- Search-engines use descriptions and keywords to categorize
your page, so make the most of submitting your page by including the following codes to
make your site more search-engine friendly!
<meta name="description" content="your description here">
<meta name="keywords" content="a few keywords about your site
here"> (separate keywords with commas)

example of the codes listed above, check out the source for

- Search-engines will often take the first 50-150 words from the page
as the page's description, so make sure you use your keywords listed in the meta-tags
throughout your site. It is recommended to use each keyword in the text of your site two
to three times per page (but not more that four or five times) so search-engines will
pick up on those words and enable your site to be found. Not having the appropriate
number of keywords can make your page much harder to submit to search engines, and
difficult to find for the person searching.
- It is also highly recommended to include your keywords in the
title of your home page. This will help search engines give you a higher rating and
make your site more accessible to people trying to find your site.
- Another great way to publicize your site is to go to www.submit-it.com. Simply fill out the required
forms and for a small fee, they will submit your site to your choice of up to 400
search-engines.
